The oldest parts of the city house are from 1546. It is the mayor Jörgen Kock who built it. The exterior parts are from the 1860's and have been drawn by Helgo Zetterval.

The Royal palace hosts the Wat Phra Kaew, i.e. the temple of the Emerald Buddha. The Emerald Buddha is one of the symbol of Thailand.
The Royal temple and palace contains about 200 building, temples and chedis, that have been build over the past 200 years.
